A STUDY OF THE OPINIONS OF THE TEACHERS REGARDING SEMESTER SYSTEM IN STANDARD-9

Education is a continuous process and reformation in education is a continuous process. Semester system is an important reformation introduced at school level. Present study takes the opinion of teachers regarding school system at secondary level. Tool used is Opinionnaire and the sample is 200 teachers were selected conveniently. Chi square was used as analysis technique.

TEACHING STRATEGY PREFERENCES OF ENGLISH MAJOR STUDENTS: A CASE OF ISABELA STATE UNIVERSITY

This study was conducted to determine the students’ preferred teaching strategies used by English teachers at the College of Arts and Sciences, Isabela State University Echague Campus this 2nd Semester of the Academic Year 2015-2016. It used the descriptive method to describe the attributes of the respondents and was correlated to the students’ preferred teaching strategies used by English teachers and inferential method of research to test the hypothesis of the study.

Teacher education is a key factor to develop teacher‟s abilities and attitude towards profession and nations. Nowadays number of teacher education institutes is working in the field of teacher training. Vidyabharti is one of them. Progress of any nation depends on its education system. With education human being develop their ability as per the requirement of the time and nation. In this context teacher is a pioneer and he is the backbone of education. The quality of teacher depends upon the quality of Teacher Education. The teacher, through teacher education learns many things which they put in to practice to impart knowledge to the school children. The present paper is an attempt to point out the disparity between school education and teacher education.

ISSUES OF TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME

Kothari Commission begins its report with this remark ‘The destiny of India is being shaped in its classrooms’. No doubt a sound programme of education plays a significant role in nation’s development and the quality of the education programme is greatly determined by the quality of teachers. Hence, in order to improve the quality of education, it is necessary to have a sound programme of professional education of teachers. In our country we have the B.Ed programme to train secondary school teachers.
